This was my first Norton. I now have four and I've found that my interests in general have drifted towards considerably older bikes. So I am going to sell two and buy one more older one. (The other one is incomplete and in pieces - it is a proper project and will be listed in the next couple of weeks. )On this one. the paint has lifted around the petrol filler cap. I have done a repair on it which you can see in the photos. (My repair is actually much less noticeable in the flesh than in the photos but I had to show you it. ) There is the odd chip in the paintwork - this is not a concourse bike but it is in very good condition throughout. The fork springs are slightly exposed sometimes on the centre stand which suggests to me that the shrouds are a little short. It's not a problem but it should be mentioned. I bought the bike a few years ago in fully restored condition. I have a file full of receipts. photos and documentation relating to the full restoration. I believe that the restorer bought it from the original owner/family and so it has had very few owners. It also has matching frame and engine numbers which would suggest that this bike still has its original engine. Since owning the bike I have had the magneto and dynamo professionally reconditioned and sorted out the wiring. I fitted a one way valve in the lubrication system to stop wet sumping and removed the duel seat and fitted the sprung seat in the photos. The dual seat is included. I used this as a daily rider on the short distance to work in the summer months and then fitted a lightweight sports sidecar to entertain my six year old lad. Sadly his mother disapproved and so it has had very little use over the last couple of years. I rode the bike for a fifteen mile round trip on a nice morning last week and it was running very well indeed. You can hear it running here:https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=9qYApId3Lvs(Note from photographer - the plan was to start the bike after a couple of months of not having been started and show how reliable it is. It actually started on the third or fourth kick - at which point I noticed that my phone was in camera mode and I'd just taken a nice photo of it. So we had to shoot another video a couple of minutes later. So we can't claim that it started first kick after months of not running. However you can see it starts pretty well. I rode this bike on the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride from Borough Market back in September and that may actually have been the last time it was started. ) Collection is from Bushey.
