850 Norton Commando Roadster

This a well sorted out 850 Commando. This bike is currently owned by professional surfer Jon Rose. The bike was given to him by Pamela Anderson as a gift in 2011. The bike was purchase from Rocket Motorcycles in San Diego and had been serviced and prepared for the sale. The bike is in exceptional cosmetic and mechanical condition. Recently . the bike was professionally re-commissioned after being in storage. There are many upgrades from the stock Commando configuration. The front end remains stock in appearance. but is fitted with progressive front springs. The top and bottom triple trees as well as the handlebar clamps have been high polished. The front wheel is a beautiful shouldered Akront. The stock brakes have been serviced and work perfectly. The paint on the fuel tank is in excellent condition showing no scratches or chips. The overall quality of the paintwork on the fuel tank and side covers is exceptional. Mechanically. the bike is a very string runner. It has a few additions to the oiling system. An in line oil cooler has been fitted as well as an anti-sump valve. The fuel delivery has been updated to a round slide Mikuni. The isolastics appear to be in good condition and no excessive vibration was noted during test riding. The gearbox and power transmission both operate smoothly. The ignition has been updated to an electronic unit and the coil is an updated single 12V. The timing is spot on and with the Mikuni addition. the bike is both reliable and easy to start. The original seat has been replaced with a Corbin single seat. The upholstery is in excellent condition as well as the foam. The rear suspension is updated with Koni 132 units. The rear wheel is a 18" shouldered Akront which greatly increases tire choices. All electrical lighting functions work b perfectly. This is a solid machine and can be put to great use as a recreational pleasure bike or daily rider. The bike can be viewed by appointment in Los Angeles California.
