I BOUGHT THE BIKE AS A RESTORATION PROJECT BUT THEN MY WIFE AND I REALISED WE WERENT TIED INTO OUR MORTGAGE FOR ANOTHER YEAR AND SINCE WE WANTED A BIGGER HOUSE WE FOUND ONE PURCHASED IT AND THUS I MUST SELL THIS BIKE AND A POLICE COMMANDO TO PAY FOR FEE'S ETC AND NEW FURNITURE. I AM GOING TO BE 100% HONEST ABOUT THIS BIKE SO YOU ARE 100% SATISFIEDBIKE IS AN AMERICAN IMPORT. I HAVE ALL THE IMPORT DOCUMENTS AND ALL DUTIES PAID. NO REGISTRATION AS IT HAS NOT BEEN REGISTERED IN THE UK. ALL THAT WILL NEED TO BE DONE IS MOT THE BIKE ON THE FRAME NUMBER. INSURE IT AND THEN SEND OFF FOR A NEW REGISTRATION AND AGE RELATED NUMBER WILL BE GIVEN TO THE BIKE. AS SOON AS I GOT THE BIKE I STRIPPED THE ENGINE. THE BOTTOM END IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. NO PLAY. CORROSION OR KNOCKING. CAMSHAFT IS NOT WORN. NOTHING WAS REQUIRED FOR THE BOTTOM END. THE BARRELS HAVE SOME SLIGHT CORROSION BUT WITHIN TOLERANCE SO THE BARRELS HAVE BE RE HONED AND NEW RINGS FITTED (HEPOLITE) TODAY. SMALL BREAK IN ENGINE BOLT SEE PHOTO ON YOUTUBE. LINK TO FOLLOW. THE PISTONS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND NO EXCESS WEAR OR KNOCKS. THEY ARE ON . 040 SO PLENTY OF MEAT STILL ON THE BONE. THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS STRIPPED AND AGAIN IN GOOD CONDITION. THE ONLY ISSUE WAS A LOOSE EXHAUST AND INLET GUIDE WHICH I REPLACED FROM RGM FOR NEW. HEAD PUT BACK TOGETHER AND SEATS GROUND IN. I HAVENT RE FITTED THE HEAD BECAUSE ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS HAD BEEN GLUED IN WITH SEALANT. I HAVE HAD IT REMOVED BUT IT WAS DONE SO BECAUSE ONE PLUG HOLE WILL REQUIRE A HELICOIL. AS A RESULT I HAVENT REFITTED IT FOR OBVIOUS REASONS AS ANY SWARF WOULD BE LEFT IN THE BARRELS IF IT WAS REFFITED. THIS IS AN EASY JOB IN ANY CASE. RECENTLY I HAVE 5 DONE ON MY COMMANDO FOR ?60!MAGNETO IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT I HAVE NOT HAD IT TESTED AS REBUILD HASNT GOT THAT FAR. NOTHING IS BROKEN SO SHOULD BE NO ISSUES. FRAME HAD BEEN CONVERTED TO A SINGLE DOWN TUBE. WHY???? GOD ONLY KNOWS BUT THIS HAS BEEN RETURNED TO ORIGINAL BY MYSELF. SEE PHOTOS OF WORK. HAS BEEN DONE SIDE BY SIDE WITH MY DADS FEATHERBED FRAME AS HE IS RESTORING HIS DOMINATOR. EVERYTHING IN THE PHOTOS COMES WITH THE BIKE. MATCHING ENGINE. FRAME 20 117919 MAKING IT A 1966 ATLAS. THE STANCHIONS ARE TOO LONG I DONT BELIEVE THEY ARE NORTON. THEY COULD BE TURNED DOWN ON A LATHE BUT PERSONALLY I WOULD REPLACE. THE HUBS ALL POLISH UP NICELY BUT RIMS WILL NEED REPLACING. THE FORKS ARE NOT BROKEN BUT AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTO HAVE A REPAIRABLE CRACK. HIS CAN BE ALUMINIUM WELDED AND POLISHED OUT. IT LOOKS LIKE PERHAPS THEY HAVE FILLED WITH WATER AND THEN FROZEN. GEAR BOX IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND ALL GEARS SELECT. KICK START RETURN SPRING WILL NEED REPLACEMENT. ALL IN ALL SHE IS IN GOOD SHAPE. ENGINE WONT NEED ANY WORK OTHER THAN HELICOIL OF SPARK PLUG HOLE. FRAME IS BACK TO ORIGINAL AND GEAR BOX IS ALL GOOD. GENUINE MATCHING NUMBERS BIKE. I HAVE PAINTED THE FRAME IN SMOOTH BLACK HAMMERITE AND IT LOOKS FANTASTIC. I HAVE LEFT THE NUMBER UNPAINTED SO YOU CAN SEE IT HAS NOT BEEN ALTERED. TIN WARE IS GOOD. HAS ALSO BEEN PAINTED AND I AM IN THE PROCESS OF POLISHING THE PAINT BUT ASSUME IT WONT BE POLISHED AS I AM RUNNING SHORT OF TIME. PETROL TANK IS IN GOOD NICK. NO DENTS AND NOT CORRODED. NO HOLES ETC. CLUTCH IS PRESENT AND STRIPPED. LOOSELY PUT BACK TOGETHER. MOST BOLTS ARE PRESENT FOR ENGINE AND FRAME. FINAL DRIVE BODY ALL PRESENT. BOTH CARBS ARE PRESENTCLUTCH AND ALL FINAL DRIVE IS THERE MINUS THE FINAL DRIVE GEARI WILL TRY AND PUT SOME PHOTOS AS A COLLAGE ON YOUTUBE SO I CAN SHOW ALL THE PHOTOS. ATLAS'S GO FOR ?7000-9000 IN GOOD CONDITION AND THIS ONE IS 80% OF THE WAY THERE. JUST NEEDS SOME TIME TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. I AM AWAY FROM THE 26TH OF FEB TILL MARCH 2ND SO I PROBABLY WONT BE ANSWERING QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BIKE DURING THAT TIME. BIKE HAS A VERY GOOD CONDITION FUEL TANK AND A NEWLY RETRIMMED AND UN USED SEATALTHOUGH NOT A DEFINITIVE LIST WHAT IS BASICALLY REQUIRED THAT I CAN SEE TO FINISH THE BIKE WILL BE HOSES. MUDGUARDS. HEADLAMP/HANDLE BARS/STANCHIONS AND THAT IS THE MAIN STUFF. OTHER ODDS AND SODS WILL BE BOLTS ETC. PLEASE STUDY THE PHOTOS. ASK QUESTIONS AND COME AND VIEW THE BIKE. IF YOU CANT SEE IT OR DIDNT ASK ASSUME ITS NOT THERECASH ON COLLECTION AND WOULD PREFER COLLECTION WITHIN A WEEK BUT I AM FLEXIBLE.
