Beautiful 1972 Norton Commando Interstate

As I wind down towards retirement. I've come to the realization that I've acquired way too many toys to take with me when I downsize and move from this frozen tundra to a environment. Sadly the time has come to pass on some of my babies to other caretakers. and with that said I offer you this beautiful 1972 Norton Commando Interstate in fantastic condition. I've sold several of my restorations here on ebay. and the buyers will attest that I have been unable to convey in words just how nice they are. When I acquired this Norton. the seller assured me that it looked perfect and ran like new. His idea of perfect and mine it seems are light years apart. I had to basically start from square one. re-doing the fuel. ignition. top end. and suspension in order to get it running and handling to my standards. New fuel lines. single Mikuni carb redone and jetted properly. new Power Arc ignition system (which I feel is superior to the old Boyer that was on it). new rotor and stator. new battery. new isolastics. head steady is right on the mark. nbsp;forks completely rebuilt. new cables. and top end redone are but a few of the changes I've made to her. She now starts. runs. and handles as I expect any of the 30 plus vintage British motorcycles that I've owned and restored over the years to perform. Rims are perfect. with new Buchanan spokes. tires are like new. just about every single nut. bolt. and washer is stainless steel. The transmission and brakes are the only systems that I didn't have a need to redo as she shifts as smoothly and nice as any Norton I've owned. and stops properly. All the aluminium parts on the bike (i. e. timing cover. primary. etc. ) may look to be chromed. but they are just highly polished as my bikes always present in a spotless condition. And as with all my bikes. this one has never seen a drop of water and is stored in my climate controlled motorcycle garage. Flaws? the speedo cable crapped out at the end of last season - I do have a new one which I will put on prior to shipping to you. And there is the proverbial scuff mark on the right peashooter from the kicker (a common occurrence). Other than that. she's quite a bike. You WILL be the envy of your local motorcycling community when you show up on this bike. and will enjoy the ride that only a Norton can provide. As she is 43 years old. she is being sold as is with no warranty. I encourage anyone to inspect the bike - you won't find another nicer. The lucky buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. but I will certainly assist and make myself available for the transport pickup. The Buy it Now is extremely low for a bike of this caliber. but I don't want to exclude anyone with a passion for vintage British bikes from obtaining her based on the depth of their wallets.
