1974 Norton Commando Interstate 850

Description

This bike was parked inside since 2002. The previous owner had done a complete overhaul including new head pistons and new 32mm Amal MK2 carbs just 4700 miles before he parked it. The bike has Boyer Brandsden Electronic Ignition Tympanum Electronic Voltage Rectifier 180w Lucas alternator and an Electronic Charging assimilator.

I bought the bike in 2013 and disassembled it intending to ride it. I replaced or rebuilt almost all the auxiliary equipment including a new steel tank new seat and all Stainless Steel oil lines and all wiring. I sandblasted and painted the frame. As this bike has spent its whole life in California and New Mexico there is absolutely no rust. The tank and sidecover paint is fresh. No chips scratches or dents. After 13 years in storage the bike started on the 4th kick. To my knowledge everything on the bike works as it should. Unfortunately with replacement knees I have problems starting it therefore it is now for sale. I am pretty sure that there are more miles on the bike than show on the odometer but don't know how many. The bike includes the original shop manual and parts list as well as detailed information on modifications.
