I am selling this for a friend. This is the owner's description:I am the 2ndowner of this beautiful 1974 850 Norton Commando MK IIa which only has 17,531 miles on the clock. There is a journal of records from the original owner that detail work that was done to the motorcycle. Much of the work has already been done to create a fast, eliable piece of British machinery.

• Electronic ignition-provides very easy starting. Flood the carbs when cold and the bike will start first kick when you are used to starting it.
• A high output alternator keeps the battery charged.
• High performance shocks improve the handling.
• The compression is very strong, he valve guides and head gasket were replaced shortly before I purchased the bike.
• The bike has had new isolastics and a Mark 3 timing chain adjuster.
• Stainless steel brake lines.
• The fork brace and hydraulic damper really helps stability and handling at higher speeds.
• All the lights and electrics work.
• Please note the horn has been removed from the bike for repair or replacement because it only worked intermittently.

I have owned the bike since 1991 and have only done less than a thousand miles on the bike. The bike has been properly stored for years. It has just been taken out of storage, iven a tune-up with new oils, lugs and tune-up. The engine was turned over with the plugs out to insure oil has gone all away around the engine before initial start up. The bike started up first kick after squirting a little oil on top of the pistons to insure lubrication to the rings and bores and flooding carbs to aid starting. The bike has full compression and is very fast. The bike has a brand new battery, ires have very low mileage, nd a new speedo drive gear on the rear wheel. The speedo cable works, ut may need a replacement soon. The extensive handwritten journal detailing the bike's history as well as original Norton Riders Manual, egistration and Title will be sent along with the bike to the new owner.
