Up for bid is a 1977 Yamaha XS650 Custom Cafe Racer.
I am not the owner of this motorcycle but the owner has asked me to assist him in the sale of his motorcycle. Owner has clear title for the motorcycle in his name.
Here is the information the seller has given me about the motorcycle-
Motorcycle has been ridden just less than 1000 miles since it was completed in 2012.
Engine is stock bore. New rings and cylinders honed. Head fins drilled for appearance. Valves and seats refreshed. New stem seals. Stock 38mm CV carbs with custom made velocity stacks and screens. Accell high performance two post coil with points wired in parallel. Exhaust pipes from MikesXS with reverse cone megaphone mufflers. Baffles removed but included in sale if wanted.
Upholstery by Mac's Seat Cover in Eau Claire, I.
5 gallon Norton Manx style fiberglass gas tank and seat manufactured by Classic Glass. Tank hold down strap, oggle, nd Monza gas cap from Clubman Racing Accessories.
Forks are 35mm. Brake rotors are drilled stock 2-piece with Brembo calipers from late model Harley Davidson. Stock master cylinder. Rear shocks are Yamaha reservoir shocks of unknown origin.
Paint is DuPont Chroma Base Specmaster code YM165, ridescent Metallic Green. DuPont Chroma Clear. Pinstriping by "Sprocket".
Custom made brake stay arm, otor mounts, uffler mounts, ear sets, aliper mounts, nd license plate bracket.
140mph speedometer from donor bike. Mileage is incorrect.
Indicator lights-
RED- High Beam
GREEN - Neutral
YELLOW - Oil Pressure
Custom made wiring harness using circuit breakers. No fuses.
Battery is below swingarm pivot. Voltage regulator and rectifier mounted under seat.
Gold O-Ring chain with 18T front and 34T rear sprockets.
Shouldered aluminum rims were re-laced and trued with new spokes. 19" front with 3.25-19 Duro Classic tire and 4.00-18 Duro Classic in the rear. Tires were new when motorcycle was built.
There is no key for this motorcycle. Toggle switch for power and push button to start. Both are located under the seat. While the bike still has a kickstart it really isn't usable as the rear sets interfere.
REASON FOR SELLING -
The 76 year old owner is an avid builder and collector of mainly XS650 motorcycles. In the past year he fell off his roof and broke his back and the riding position of this motorcycle is just not agreeing with that injury.

My personal notes and opinion of the motorcycle-
This bike is ready to be ridden. It starts and runs easily. It is not a trailer queen, nless that is what you want to turn it into, opefully not..... This is not one of those custom cafe bikes that is horrible to ride. The owner builds his bikes to ride. A lot of time and effort has gone into this motorcycle, nd it shows. The bike is well thought out and utilizes many quality components. I have rode the bike and it has a great feel to it. Since it has been ridden there are a few chips in the paint, ery minor though. Bit of road crud on the front and under the engine. Again this is not my motorcycle so if you have specific questions that I am unable to answer I may need to contact the owner so there could be a little delay in answering. If you want to talk to the owner directly by phone I might be able to arrange that. He does not have email or computer. There is a modest reserve set on this motorcycle. He isn't hoping to cash in on this bike, ust enough to cover his effort and expenses.
This is a 38 year old motorcycle. I nor the owner can warranty it in any way. Sold as-is. I do my best to describe its condition. Please take a look at the pictures carefully. If you need more pictures or have questions, lease feel free to ask.
Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I can assist with shipping if needed.
Payment- Deposit due within 24 hours and balance within one week unless other arrangements are made.
