Description

I offer this velocette for sale. In my second year of ownership I just havnt used it at all . o if it makes its reserve it will go . please don't ask for a buy it now. I won't answer that particular question. if you know your velo's you will know what to bid. any other questions I will be happy to try and answer. Anyway what is it. It's a 1947 kss mk 2. motor in a swinging arm RS type frame . he  frame number dates it as 1951 or 52. Most likely from a Mac but records don't specify. it is now registered with its original reg number . which is non transferable. The v5c is in my nameOther features are the Japanese wheels front and rear . I'm told from a k2 honda. The front is a twin leader and probably better than the velo one fitted to my viper. The rear is probably more than you need the crossover shaft arrangement and a cantilever linking applies great breaking force. it has an alternator fitted ex kyboto lawnmower. And the ignition is coil fired from the original mag body. History. Bike was built in the 1980. by a very nice man down in the harwich area. he certainly knew what he was doing. It's very well put together and was run throughout the 90's right up til 2011. I have all the tax discs and have spoken to him . he is now in his 80' s but still sharp as a tack. Work needed. The new tank and seat need to be mounted they are only sitting on the bike. small tank it was fitted with was off a matchless g2 or something similar  that goes with it . the seat it came with went in the bin. The final pic shows it the way it was you will also need to rewire it as the lighting circuit is a bit messy. I wired the ignition direct to hear it running. Test run around the block put a real smile on my face. started well. pretty smooth possibly smother than my viper and that is saying somethingThe engine and gearbox all seem to be in good used order but it is an old bike. the mag chain looks a bit stretched so change it. the gear change was off the bike when I took the pictures . now refitted . all the gears select fine. Any other questions please ask . You won't ride it away but it can be heard running. Buyer collects . pays a deposit at auction end with the balance  by bank transfer or cash on collection.  I know I'm going to regret parting with this one. British OHC bikes are not that common. The velo is up there alongside the norton inter. Having run both id say the velo is a lot less agricultural than the norton. Standard versions of the mk2 will now cost you well over 10k . this ones reserve is a lot lower than that. worth a bid? That's up to you but I won't be disappointed if it does not sell.
