Description

I have owned this bike since 1981. Lower back injury forces sale, oo painful to ride and enjoy. Clear title in my name All numbers match.. I stored it for the last couple years, oping I could get back to riding this great Norton. I have had eighteen other commando bikes over the last 35 years, nd for the most part had four ready to ride and looking good. I serviced the bike to ready it for sale. Battery is nearly new, ires in great shape. Rims are British made copies, little pitting, ut barely noticeable. Polished stainless spokes with polished hubs. Brakes are good to go, ut the 13mm master cylinder upgrade would help, f one so desires. Engine has standard bore pistons and the cylinder head was rebuilt and polished externally by Kenny Dreer, nly 1k miles on these components. I installed polished stainless fasteners on the head to set off the high degree of polishing done through Kenny Dreer's shop. Amals are sleeved and polished Iinlet manifolds are polished as well, hrome air box. Gearbox has layshaft bearing upgrade and shifts smooth and quiet as it should. The swingarm was powder coated and fitted with an over sized spindle with new bushings machined for said spindle. Isolastics set to spec, ides true. New seat from Old Britt's (pricey). Tank is steel and is the slimline version. Side covers are steel as well. Paint on these parts is very good. There are many stainless and polished stainless fasteners throughout (Rocky Point Cycle). A test ride after servicing showed that the speedo is acting up, will compensate winning bidder $200.00 to fix it. It was repaired some years ago and zeroed, hows a little over 11k ergo the stated miles in item specifics. Boyer ignition replacing a Lucas Rita, ut I retained the points cover from the Lucas system (personal preference) I have the reflectors that mount near the coils. Factory workshop manual is also included. If you have questions please ask, hat is important! Need more photos? I will be glad to send them. The Norton Rally is in Quincy, A, lenty of time to get the bike in this auction and ride it to the event in July! Winning bidder to pay for all shipping costs. Payment for this motorcycle must clear prior to pick up..
