Description

1966 Yamaha YDS3C "Big Bear" Scrambler 250cc, wo-stroke, win carb. Clear Illinois title in my name. Bike is in running condition, icensed and insured. Less than 4300 original miles. Has original key. Pulls strong through the gears, ast and fun to ride. Ask any questions, hone number is below.
RIDER quality bike, OT a show bike. Get on and go. Worry about imperfections (for example chrome pitting on the exhaust, aint on the oil tank chipped, ..) later.
In general, n original survivor with some loving upgrades that can be easily removed to get back to the stock look. NOTE: I have the chrome front fender that is included in the sale. Fender is in nice shape. I took it off for looks.
READ THIS: if you are looking for a show bike, ook elsewhere. if you think this bike is perfect, ook elsewhere. if you appreciate vintage bikes and want a rare bike that looks pretty good, uns and rides with a title, ead on...
Original blue/white paint on tank and headlight bucket. Both sidecovers/oil tank have been painted white years ago (they should be blue). Has the dipstick in the fuel tank under the gas cap. Tank has some dings and dents, ut overall presentable. Original plastic Yamaha tank emblems have cracks, ut they are holding together. Chrome on the rims is nice, s well as the general condition of the bike. Note, he exhaust have some pitting and are not that great looking, ut are solid. The right side exhaust had a leak that I got brazed. Handlebars have nice chrome and are straight. Gauge package/face is very nice compared to most out there. Please compare to others out there. Original brake/clutch levers with perches. Seat cover was likely replaced, ut is a proper Yamaha brand. Seat foam is nice, nd rebounds. I'm guessing the foam was replaced as well.
HERE is what I have done: brand new knobby tires, im strips, nd tubes. (tires probably have 5 miles on them). New front brake cable. New clear fuel line. New cone fuel filters. New rear brake pads. Sonically cleaned carbs. White Builtwell grips, ice and soft. Folding bar-end mirror. New rubber on kick-starter. New spark plugs. New gold heavy-duty roller chain. New rear wheel adjusters. Added Norton fork gaiters for looks. New clear oil line from tank to pump. Fresh Royal Purple transmission oil. Upgraded twin leading shoe front brake off a YDS3 street bike.
Bike started June 14th, 016 after sitting since October on the 4th kick. 6V system. Battery is probably 2-3 years old? Choke works. Headlight works, rake light works, eutral light works, igh beam works, igh beam light works, peedo works, ach works, dometer works. Key works. Brakes work. Horn does NOT work. NO tool kit. I have not replaced the air filter, YI.
NOTE: has a weep in the gasket on the bottom of the motor. Not too bad, ust keep it on the center stand and the drips are minimal. (side stand position has more weep).
