1928 Harley Davidson JD Twin Cam.

This 1928 Harley Davidson JD was Homer Knapp’s desert sled. It is a twin cam assembly with lots of race history including finishes at the Catalina Island original races and again in the 50 year anniversary race in 2012. This 1928 Harley JD Twin Cam was last run In Catalina and it was put away wet. This motorcycle has a California title in the name of the estate. It comes with a full story board that Homer Knapp used when the bike was on display. A California registration form in Homer’s name was found from 1954 that will go with the bike. This 1928 Harley JD Twin cam tuned by the famous Homer Knapp is a fire breathing dragon! Racing heritage at its best! This bike was removed from Homer's place just after his passing. It is now in protective storage. Mileage: Unknown

Paint: Believed to be an original paint survivor. Decals added by Homer.

Sheet metal: sheet metal is mostly original with good patina. Survivor metal has dings and dents.

Chrome: No Chrome.

Tires and Rims: 18 inch rims with painted spokes. Tires remain from the motocross event and are Dunlop Sports basically new.

Mechanical: This is a running machine in need of a new tuner. Homer was a genius at tuning and setting up rides so it is expected to be ready to go with minimal maintenance. The bike would require typical maintenance to have it ready for the next event.
