1958 AJS Powered Norton Featherbed Framed Special - Classic Cafe Racer

I'm listing this machine for a long-time customer and good friend.

This gorgeous Norton / AJS Special is the creative vision and detailed mechanical masterwork of multi-championship winning roadracer and master-builder Ron Peter. A build that took several years. started with a Norton featherbed frame and an AJS 18CS engine with 1 3/8?ˆ? Amal GP carburetor.

The machine features a wealth of handmade custom pieces on this bike that blend so well into the fit. finish and overall character of this build. Top-shelf components include: Roadholder forks. handsome Manx replica alloy fuel tank. fairing and seat. custom instrument panel with Smith racing tach. custom toothed belt drive from crankshaft to generator. Note the nice integration of the powerful Suzuki GT750 4LS front drum brake.

Although this is a fine running. well-sorted piece. the bike has very few miles on it and looks as perfect as the day Ron finished it.  The special has been correctly prepped for storage in the owner?ˆ™s climate-controlled showroom.

This AJS Norton Special was featured in Cycle Canada?ˆ™s June 2001 edition. Ron has had other builds featured such as his Triumph Bonneville in the Cycle Canada July 1997 edition.
