For your consideration: My most excellent 1975 Norton Mk III Roadster . along with all front line tools and very many extra parts.
I bought this motor from Storm Cycle in Grand Prairie . exas in 1978. I suspect it has at least 20. 00 miles now but can't be sure because of past speedometer issues and rebuilds. It has served me very well over the years . has been used gently and never wrecked or dropped.
I did a thorough restoration starting in the mid nineties and have had the bike mothballed since 2005.
Engine The motor is in very good condition. Sometime back in the 80's the mechanics at Storm replaced the camshaft with a '71 part due to a sheared lobe. I suspect I had timed it incorrectly. I have had the valves lapped during the restoration. It does not smoke or use oil. Or leak oil. All the Phillips machine screws have been replaced with SS hex screws. The valve train oil line is braided SS. I have added an oil cooler which in unconventionally placed but still does the job. The rings and bore are original. Included is a valve spring compression tool.
Transmission The transmission shifts smoothly. The clutch does not slip. Included is the clutch adjustment /removal tool.
Exhaust I replaced the pipes and mufflers. Included is the exhaust nut wrench.
Carburetor The original Amal carbs have been replaced with a single 34 mm Mikuni. The original carbs. and cables are in good condition and included.
Ignition The mechanically advanced ignition has been replaced with a Boyer Branson ignition. I have replaced the original coils with a single high energy coil. The original ignition is complete. and in good condition. Also included is the slide hammer for removing the timing cam and the valve cover seal guide.
Starter The starter was rewound and fitted with new brushes. It is not the 4 brush rebuild but turns the engine over cold.
Brakes The brakes have been completely rebuilt with SS cups. The rear master cylinder was a new OEM one that I got from Hawkshaw Motorcycles in Liverpool back in early 2000's. The front master cylinder has been rebuilt. I went thru the brakes so many times trying to get them right until I discovered the Mighty Vac hand held brake bleeder. The brakes are charged with synthetic brake fluid. The brake lines are SS braided.
Tank The gas tank is epoxy lined.
Paint There is nothing really original about the paint. The tank and side panels are Pearl White professionally painted. I did the frame myself. it is lacquer coated.
Seat is custom with a very small tear on one side. The original seat is included. it has suffered some rodent damage.
Electrics The complete wiring harness was replaced. The switches are original and in good working order. The indicator lights are LED replacements and all work. The turn signals are of the ''mini stalk" style. The horn is a $9 after market one that is. unlike the original. very loud. and as it is simply hung from the main tube in front of the battery. easy to get to. The battery is a gel type and new. Included is a halogen headlight bulb which I've never gotten around to installing.
Tires The tires are in seemingly good condition. have been out of the weather. but are over tens years old. As you can see in the pics they are country road tires. not racing tires.
Forks I put kits in the fork tubes. They probably didn't need it but I was obsessive about the little smear of oil above the seals. I replaced the rear shocks.
I replaced every gasket. ushing and grommet on this bike that I could. Almost all of the parts came from Fred and Ella Eaton at Old Brits in Seattle. Along with lots of extra parts is also included the Workshop manual in good condition.
I mothballed the bike in 2005. put in clean synthetic oils. and fogged the cylinders. It has been kept covered and garaged stored ever since. When I get the winning bids deposit I will bring the bike the bike to life.
I would expect a $500. 00 deposit within 48 hours of the close of bidding using Pay Pal.
I will do whatever I can to facilitate your efforts to have the bike and its accessories shipped to you.
