125cc Motorbike Lexmoto Street 125 2013 plate

 Lexmoto Street 1252013 PlateOnly 2. 00 miles from new. This will probably show as a Cat C on the insurance register. as damaged repairable. can go back on the road with a full and new MOT. Which is what I have done. Mature owner who used it for work and back and nothing else. Until a van decided to pull out a side road on him and he dumped the bike. So instead of waiting for the insurance to do what they do. he went and bought another bike and I had this off him. The damage was very light really. but when insurance companies only go to the main dealers for parts you can understand why the price rockets and these things get written off. That and the fact that repair places tend to up the price on insurance jobs. The damage caused was:Clutch lever bent and clamp bracket brokenFront brake lever brokenLeft front indicator brokenLeft hand clip on bent slightlySmall dent to the tank on the left side ( seen in picture)Left hand side panel. two fixing lugs snapped offLeft hand riders foot-peg bent slightlyGear shift lever bent slightlyFront mudguard brokenThats it. That was the extent of the damage. But at retail dealer prices. to replace all that with new stuff is nearly ?300. plus the labour costs which would have pushed the price to ?500+. Hence the insurance write off. So I've repaired the bike. done all the stuff above and put a new MOT on it as of today (09/01/2015)It has had new clutch lever and clamp bracketNew front brake leverPair of new front indicatorsNew front mudguardUsed good side panelThe handlebar clip-on. gear lever. and foot peg have straightened out easily with no fractures appearingI've also replaced the seat because the mice had been at it before the last owner had it. and he hadn't been bothered to replace it. The only thing I haven't done is the dent in the tank. this can be easily repaired and flashed over before the weather gets to it. or just one of those paint repair pens to cover it up. The MOT bloke gave it a very thorough going over when I told him it was a cat c bike. and he found no faults with it. It starts and stops as it should. rides nicely. goes through the gears smoothly and is a comfortable ride. It is an ideal little commuter bike for back and forth to work and tootling around on. And apparently the fuel economy is fantastic. so he tells me. So there you have it. a nice little very low mileage commuter bike. all done and MOT'd for 12 months.
