1956 Excelsior Consort F4S 98cc 2 speed (Villiers 4F)

I have owned this bike for nearly 20 years. fully restoring it and putting it on the road with an age related number in 2000 when I needed transport for work.

It was in regular use. mainly on club runs. until last year when I ran out of room in the garage so put it in the garden shed. It was taken out for the occasional short run but the damp conditions affected the paintwork on the tank which now has tiny blisters in the finish. The exhaust pipe is original so the chrome has almost gone. However the overall condition is still very good and you can ride it to work through the winter (leaving your Vincent in its VagBag). fettle and repaint it to make it concours or just leave it as it is and enjoy!

It is VERY original. still having the rare Walker rear light. genuine Burgess silencer. rechromed original levers. new Villiers headlight rim and reflector. working Smiths chronometric speedo. Dunlop wheel rims (powder coated silver to replicate the original dull chrome) and retaining the cylindrical toolbox so often missing. A battery was fitted for a brakelight when it was my daily transport. The lighting is 6 volt direct. but suprisingly good. The gearbox is a 2 speed thumb change. the suspension is undamped Webb girders up front and undamped plunger boxes at the rear. Braking is best described as adequate for the performance!

It has free tax. is MoT exempt and running well. There is lots of paperwork. ld MoTs. manuals and some spares. The registration number is age related and NON transferable (the original was not on the DVLA computer and was lost. )
