Description

2000 Italjet Dragster 180 ‘superleggera’ This build started out as a stock 2000 Dragster 180. I purchased it from the original owner in Washington. who had been using it as a pit bike. I’ve always loved the Dragster. and wanted to make it into something even more unique. If you aren’t familiar with the Dragster. it was designed by Miguel Galluzzi (of Ducati Monster fame) with hub-center steering designed by Elf. It is a liquid cooled 180cc 2-stroke. Only a handful made it to the states through the grey market. The following is a list of modifications. but as it’s been 3 years in the making I’m sure I am forgetting something (or a lot of things). It is the fastest. lightest. most fun to ride scooter I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. Clear Texas title and Texas inspection good through 2015. I have about $15k into this bike (and all receipts). Finding a stock 180cc in the states is hard enough. you won’t find one like this. As I said. I’m sure I’m forgetting something. With all of the modifications. it’s pushing 36hp at the rear wheel. I’ve had it up to about 120mph (indicated). and it had a bit of room left. I’ve also taken it on 400+ mile trips. and it’s been super reliable. Reason for selling? Frankly. this bike is scary. Stupid scary. So I’m looking to go back to something a little more tame. The Bad:-Speedo works intermittently. I think having a magnet on such a small wheel is confusing it. Probably just needs some tinkering. -Some of the internal brackets on the leg shield carbon have broken off in installation. Does not affect stability or fit. just means there are 3 holes that should have screws and don't. Easy fix from any competent fabricator. I just haven't bothered. -Left grip has a hole in the end from installation. Again. hasn't bothered me so I haven't replaced it. -Key for rear fairing (that covers the oil tank) broke in 2 recently. Still have both parts of the key. can easily make another. I don't access this anyway. since the oil has been disconnected and switched to premix. Winning bidder will also receive the stock Orange bodywork. as well as an extra set of Carbon rear fairings. If buy it now is met. I will also include a Craft Aero Helmet (L) brand new in box ($350 value). Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Bike is currently located in Philadelphia. Additional photos available upon request.
