Matchless G2 250cc. 1962 model. I purchased this with the intention of doing a springtime tinkering/restoration project but having just brought a 1200 Bandit there's neither the time or space! The bike was laid up for some years but starts and runs ok. Wheels and original tinwear are in good condition and it looks to have had a re-paint at some point. I also have a pair of new Avon tyres and tubes. spare clutch and brake cable. brake light switch. light switch and a service manual. all of which will come with the bike. There wouldn't be a huge amount of work needed to get it back on the road but as with all old bikes a good check over would be advisable before being ridden.
The final point to note is that though this is a 1962 model it was. according to the V5. first registered/re registered on the 08/09/1994 I'm unsure as to why this was done as all the relevant numbers match the documents etc. The guy I brought it off didn't mention it and I only noticed when the V5 document came through to me. All questions answered and thanks for looking.
On 28-Feb-15 at 14:37:41 GMT. seller added the following information:Having had someone round today to view the bike it would seem that the engine whilst still being a 250cc Matchless is not the original that came with the bike as the number doesn't match the frame. I'd guess the original blew up at some point although I can only speculate due to limited information. The bike started on the second kick and is running well. As before. viewings and questions welcomed.
