A full set of pictures to follow shortly (when it stops raining!!) The current 3 pics are just a "taster". they are temporary until tomorrow. or the day after. when I will take a fully detailed set. Since the first picture above was taken it has had the more "proper" headlight / fork shrouds fitted (new). thus getting rid of those ugly rubber gaiters. Also a nice chrome carrier is now fitted. It has also had the grubby Amal concentric carb replaced with a brand new carb. Note in the pic taken in the pub car park. (on my phone!!) it shows a "Tulip" silencer. I like it. but I have since put the "Goldy" one back on. The "western" bars are still on it but it comes with the standard bars (and shorter cables) so you can use whatever takes your fancy. This was supposed to be a "keeper" but plans have changed. Because it was going to be a keeper. I have attended to anything I thought might make it more reliable etc. Since buying the bike around 2 years ago I have fitted the following. A brand new Amal carb direct from Amal. (at a cost of ?175. receipt included)A fully reconditioned magneto (at a cost of ?300. receipt included)A new pair of headlamp brackets / fork shrouds (at a cost of ?100. receipt included)A solid state charging regulator (at a cost of ?30. receipt included) A chrome rear carrier (at a cost of ?45. no receipt for this)It is fitted with a cannister type oil filter (hidden in the tool box / side panel). The bike starts and runs perfectly. it makes no funny noises. does not smoke at all. It does not even leak any oil. In the two to three thousand miles I have done on it it has been 100% reliable. The bike needs no work to it. the brakes. suspension. gearbox. electrics. in fact everything works as it should. Note it has the later full width front hub / brake assembly and for an old bike the brakes are actually pretty good. Of course inspection is fine. even recommended. I am about 15 Miles south of Chester in the SY14 postcode area. There is no "buy it now" or P/X offered. so please don't offer such. A deposit should be completed within 24 hours of auction end. of ?200 via PayPal. the balance to be paid either via bank transfer. or cash on collection. The V5 is of course present and currently in my name. The bike will be collection only. or of course you can arrange your own specialist bike courier service. there are plenty advertising on here and elsewhere. Or you could ride it home!!!! It is ready to go and I would be totally confident in riding it to anywhere in the UK. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This text is "under construction" and will be added to over the next couple of days. including lots of pictures. so hang on from bidding until you see them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On 03-Mar-15 at 15:10:18 GMT. seller added the following information:I cannot edit the text in the main section because you over keen lot have started bidding. It means also I cannot delete or rearrange those crumby pics (number 2 and 3) I took with my phone. And the main pic is an old one !!! I don't suppose it matters though. I have now added pictures taken today. I have more if anyone wants more. I got the bike out of the garage. gave it a bit of a clean. and then started it up. No kidding. after being stored up since about late October. it fired up first kick. I took it for a ~5 mile ride. I am going to hate to see this go :(The pics tell the story really. just to add that the rims are in very good nick. as can be seen. The frames paintwork is excellent too. Just to remind you all. this one does not leak any oil
Oh. I should add that the first pic shows the old headlight brackets that I removed and replaced with the more appropriate ones seen in the other pictures. Those old brackets are NOT included as I no longer have them. Someone asked my "if you were keeping it. what would you like to do to improve it". Easy answer is not much. but I would like to get the rev counter working. but those Goldy timing covers go for silly money. I would also polish the front brake as it has a rather "sand cast" finish. Oh and fit a B34 motor (I wish).
