NORTON DOMINATOR 99 600cc Slimline 1960

I am in the process of disposing of some of my motorcycles as I shall shortly be moving house.

I acquired  this Norton a couple of years ago with a view to riding  one of this marque before I get too old to kick it over.   However other projects have meant that apart from taking it "up the road" after purchase (it certainly went well with no smoke) it has not been touched since.  There was a noticeable tapping from the top end on tick over when not fully warmed up. Compression is good (a bit too good for me).

Thereafter I have done nothing more than covered it up and kept it in my dehumidified workshop.

Firstly the bike has had 3 previous keepers apart from me and has matching engine and frame numbers.  It is also without an MOT for obvious reasons.

The paintwork to the fuel tank and guards is excellent and that to the frame good. Oil and battery box paint work is poor.   Wheel rims are Dunlops but chrome is past it's best.    New silencer. Exhaust has  a bad dent - see pics . New seat.  Kick start and gear lever in poor cosmetic condition - see pics. There is a cock in the oil feed to the engine (unbelievably without at least an ignition cutout). I left this open  for a while as a test and would consider that it would fully drain the tank over a period of a few weeks. A new battery will be fitted.

I would describe the general condition as showing the usual signs of a bike of this age which has not been abused.
