Description

I am in the process of disposing of some of my motorcycles as I shall shortly be moving house.

Here I am offering my stunning (I hope you will agree) G11 Matchless being the penultimate motorcycle I have rebuilt over the last 20 or so years (50 years enjoying British bikes).

Purchased as a "barn find" it allegedly had an "engineer rebuilt" engine. Yes it was rebored . with a reground crank and new cam followers. but the camshafts were not as good as they should be and the nearside head had a dropped valve seat. This was all sorted with replacements along with the following jobs. nbsp;after a complete stripdown:

Frame and tinware blast cleaned - frame powder coated. tinware sprayed.

Gearbox and clutch rebuilt.

All chrome items are perfect. Some stainless parts including most cycle fasteners. A tailor made stainless rear rack is included in the sale but has not been fitted.

Wheels rebuilt. blast cleaned hubs . ew  brake linings. bearings - casquette to front wheel. nbsp; seals.   Chrome rims. stainless spokes. new tyres etc.

New fork stanchions. seals. bushes.

New exhaust and megas (with an improved baffle).

Magneto rebuilt by Lindsley.

A slightly worn oil pump was wet sumping. so an ignition interlocked (Dove) oil feed cock fitted.

Rewired with12v electronic regulator and indicators (easily removed if not required).

Centre stand modified such that machine is easily rolled on and off with minimal lifting and exertion.

The replacement dual seat was found to be both uncomfortable. too high and to my eyes. ugly.   It was therefore modified to be about an inch or so lower.

A modern replica speedometer is fitted but the purchaser can choose one of my old. probably non working. original chronometrics.

Apart from the original purchase I have receipts for ?3900 for this rebuild.

Only a few hundred miles covered since the rebuild and everything works as it should.

Potential purchasers are welcome to view before the end of the auction.

The winner should make a Paypal deposit of ?100 at the end of the auction. Either balance in a cash on collection or bank transfer/cleared cheque prior to collection.
