The 2014 Meerkat 50 is the UK's all time best selling children's quad. This is the semi-automatic 2014 model.

An enduring design. complete with numerous speed restricting parental controls. combined with a smooth and quiet four stroke engine. the Meerkat delivers the perfect combination for the junior quad bike owner.

Numerous features make the Meerkat one of the safest quads available for young children. Speed can be limited by the fully restrictable throttle that can easily be adjusted by simply turning one screw.

There are also two-engine cut out switches: one activated by a lead at the rear of the quad (lead not supplied) and another cut-off point where a child's wrist strap can be attached (wrist strap not supplied). The machine also includes a chain guard. Combine these features with a low ride height. sturdy frame. selectable gears and you have brilliant entry level machine.

The Kazuma Meerkat is suitable for children aged 4-7 under adult supervision. I'm wary about maintenance. how do I maintain it?

Maintenance is easy and cheap. you can do it yourself! these are very similar to petrol mowers. Alternatively you could use us or any of our countrywide dealers. We also find small garden machinery sellers are often happy to service kids quads as long as they can get the spares. Pump up the tyres periodically. tighten up any loose nuts and bolts. check the oil. and lubricate and tension the chain. there is little more to it! Advice is only a phone call away. We suggest a visual check following each use and then some form of planned maintenance programme every 6 months

What age range is this quad suitable for?The Kazuma Meerkat is suitable for children aged 4-7 years old. Kids come in all shapes and sizes so this is just a guide. If you have an older child you may be interested in the Falcon 90. Panda 110 or Falcon Baby and Deluxe models all available in our shop.

How much assembly is required?All machines arrive fully built ready to use. The handlebars will be fitted but may have been folded down for transit. Just position them at the required setting for your child using the spanner included within the bikes tool kit. Any machine will have a requirement for ongoing maintenance. so we suggest that machines should only be purchased by semi mechanically minded users or adults.

What does semi automatic mean and how do the gears work?Semi automatic means the bike can be used as an automatic or as a geared bike with 4 speed settings. There is no clutch lever only a small pedal next to the child's left foot. The gears are simple. there are four gears 1. neutral. 2. 3 and 4. You can start the bike in gear or in neutral. The bike will only start to pull away once the throttle is applied. For first time users simply select a low gear such as 1 or 2 and the bike will only work within either gear allowing a further level of restriction. When you feel your child is ready you can select gear 3 or 4 and the bike will achieve higher speeds.

In our experience parents simply select gear 2 and wait for the child to become competent. then they take it from there. The main benefit of the gears is control and extra power on inclines. Some purely automatic models suffer with low down power at low speeds. this is where the Meerkat excels.

Will it fit in my car?Yes. The Meerkat is the smallest and lightest in the Kazuma range. It can easily be fitted into the rear of most cars by simply putting the back seats down.

How fast can it go?The Meerkat will reach a top speed of around 25 mph. However. speed can be restricted to suit the user through the gears and the throttle restricter. so younger or inexperienced riders can learn at a safe speed. This can be achieved by simply turning a screw. which can allow the bike to be restricted to walking pace. The top speed is a maximum only achievable on a long straight with a good build up. The normal working speeds are between 10 and 20 mph.

How will my machine be delivered?The machine will arrive fully built on a pallet. It will delivered by courier on the date of delivery between 8. 30am and 6pm. Please call us if you have specific delivery requirements.

Where can the machine be used?Most quad bikes as sold by us are not legal on public roads. They can be used on any private land with the permission of the owner(s). and are suitable for terrain surfaces such as grass. gravel etc. The quad bike should not be used on extreme terrain which may cause the user to lose control. or fall off the quad bike causing injury; if an adult is in supervision they should make this assessment before allowing the child to use the quad bike. Quad bikes are supplied by us with off-road tyres; use on tarmac will cause premature tyre wear.

Can the quad bike take passengers?No more than one person should ride the quad bike at any one time. Your attention is drawn to the maximum user weight of 60 kilos. Passengers affect the machines ability to handle correctly and may cause loss of control.

Is any protective clothing required?It is advised that riders always wear a helmet and protective clothing/pad's to prevent injury. Please see the accessory section for our full range of Wulfsport clothing and safety equipment.

Can I use the quad to tow anything?No. The Meerkat has no towing capacity.

Can I use the quad bike on the road?Most quad bikes do not arrive from us as road legal machines and so. without any alterations. cannot be used on public roads.

How noisy is the quad bike?Unlike many other makes like Quadzilla and Aeon and all the 2 stroke models. all our machines run very low noise four-stroke engines. which makes them amongst the quietest and reliable quad bikes available.

What level of technical support and assistance is available?We man our phones 6 days a week. please call for assistance.

This varies depending on your location. and the options are displayed at the top of each ad. We make these rates as accurate as possible within the limitations of eBay's systems. Where this happens. you will of course be entitled to cancel and receive a full refund if you wish.

What is a working day?

Working days for delivery companies are Monday to Friday. excluding bank holidays. This means that a next day service on a Friday. for example. will arrive on Monday (the next working day).

When will my item be despatched?

We do our absolute best to despatch all items received with cleared payment before 2. 30pm Mon-Fri on the same day (excluding bank holidays). All other orders will leave on the next working day.

Some items (including quad bikes. scooters. mini motos and specialist parts) may require a pre-delivery inspection or build service which can delay despatch until the next working day.

What is the returns process? Open an ebay returns case. Package your item for safe travel. Include a note with your name. ebay user ID and postcode. Return the item to us (address above). We recommend using a tracked service as we cannot refund lost items. Allow 5 working days for us to receive and process the item (longer for international buyers).
