AJS Model 14 Sapphire Jampot like Matchless G2 winter project British bike

AJS Model 14 Sapphire for sale. I cleaned the carb. gave the engine a paraffin flush. set valve clearances. put fresh oil in. hooked up a temporary loom and it the engine fire up straight away. although running a little lumpy there were no knocks of painful sounds. It would benefit from recalibrating the timing for modern fuel.

New tyres have been fitted along with new footpeg rubbers. battery and a few other minor odds and sods. To become road worthy the forks need seals and oil. wheels will need new bearings. the tank needs cleaning. wiring loom needs finishing. number plate fitting and the seat requires recovering. Obviously a lot more would be needed for it to look pretty.

It is 99% complete. the only obvious things that are missing is the top half of the battery holder and the rear brake lever return spring and a few original nuts and bolts that have been replaced with imperial alternatives.

Comes with a selection of manual and parts books.

Easy winter project.

This bike will require a van or trailer to take it away.
