Buell XB12R Firebolt Harley Davidson

For sale is my much loved Buell XB12R Firebolt. This is a very special one off bike and it is my pride and joy. It is a 2004 bike and has had many thousands spent on it bringing up to current specification. If you love Harley engines and not quite ready for a custom cruiser this is the bike for you.

This bike is an absolute joy to ride and is a total head turner wherever you go. if you want to stand out from the crowd with run of the mill bikes. this is the one for you. The XB12R won best handling sports bike in 2007. the handling is superb. The engine is very torquey and long in the gears and makes it a joy to ride down long windy roads. you are not always changing gear to stay in a power band. it pure torque and just pulls like a train. It has a very deep rumble on idle and is quite loud. It does rattle windows and has set off the occasional car alarm (it's a Harley engine and that's what Harley engines do). saying that it is not an offensive sound and I have never had a tug from plod. It sounds more like a big old British bike or a proper Harley .   See below for full specification.

Engine

TFI fuel injection controller. Ultimate air box mod and K&N air filter. Modified air box cover. one off Micron carbon Exhaust (BS stamped). Oil breather catch can. Glass wrapped headers. New Yaesu heavy duty battery (proper size battery). New drive belt approx 200 miles.

Chassis

Free Spirit billet triple trees (top and triple clamp bolt bottom yokes). Free Spirit billet rear sets. Free spirit sprung belt tensioner. Free spirit front pulley cover. Billet grips. Titax billet adjustable levers. Frame bobbin sliders and front fork sliders. Breaking front and rear wavy disks. Aeroquip hoses. Pirelli Super Corsa tires. The rear pillion hangers and pegs come with the bike but are not fitted. it is very simple and quick to fit them with just four Allen key bolts.  

Bodywork

Full race fairing. smoked front screen. Rizoma billet prototype mirrors. Led clear rear light. Mini rear LED indicators. LED side indicators and bulls eye front LED indicators. HID front headlights. Pillion seat cover. nbsp; LED rear number plate light. Tail Tidy. 5 X 7 Rear number plate and original full size included. All panels color coded black and lacquered. /p>

Alarm

The bike originally had a Data Tool alarm from new. when it was working it was a total pain in the arse. and if left standing flattened the battery. The internal backup battery failed and I found on the internet that you could unplug and remove the alarm box and insert two copper links in the plug to bypass it. All the wiring is there if you want an alarm. just buy a new Data Tool alarm. remove the two copper links and plug it in. Personally I prefer a good chain and bike lock.

Insurance

It is currently insured with Bikesure fully comprehensive with recovery and has all modifications declared and cost £250 per year.

Since Buell stopped using the Harley Davidson engine. (which I believe caused their demise) these bikes are now quite sought after and are probably one of the only bikes of this era that are now rising in value. Harley powered Buell's are an investment!

It has not been raced. tracked day'd. thrown down the road or raged around. I am selling it as I just don't ride that much anymore. it was built for show and the joy for me has been building it. owning it and polishing it. I have only covered 50 miles since it was MOT in April and I have a new project. I also just have too many big boys toys. hence it is listed here.
