1939 VELOCETTE KTS OVERHEAD CAM PRE WAR GIRDER FORK MODEL

I bought this KTS and threw a cover over it meaning to get back to it later but of courseit's been sitting there ever since while I work on my Triumphs so time to pass it on. It's a rare and interesting bike and appears complete. It will make an excellent restoration project. I can't guarantee every bit of it is originalI know the handlebars and tail lightarn't and there may well be other bits toobut I believe it to be a fairlyaccurate example although the paint is not original. It is an OHC with an alloy head and a cast iron barrel and starts and runs quite well I have never had it on the road so bear that in mind.It has both a rear stand and a side stand. There is a wet sump problem which I'm told is common and it smokes a bit on start up but this clears up quickly. A shutoff valve is fitted in the oil line to help remedy this butthere aresafer options available. Lights don't work.I understand the KTS was fitted with KSS engines hence the engine number KSS9098. this number is partly obscured by the oil pipe but I took it from 2 angles to capture it all. This could be a beautifull bike if restored but it really is quite presentable as it is and you won't have to be ashamed to roll it out at your next rally.

I have tried to give an accurate description of it butthere may besome flaws I'm unaware of. Please accept it asan old bike needing TLC. I'm happy to answer any questions promptly.
