Description

NO RESERVE AUCTION - SO MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED TO BUY BEFORE BIDDING - For Sale is this 1972 OSSA 250 cc Pioneer. This is a two stroke engine. Vin number M306584. This was the enduro model produced by OSSA. Manufactured in Spain. Do some research and you will find what a great bike this was back in the 70's. I purchased the bike about a year ago. It was part of a trade I did with the owner it was not my intention of continuing to own the bike. I wanted to finish up some work on it just put a few miles on it to relive my youth from the 70's and then sell it so somone else can enjoy it. The previous owner gave me a sheet that showed the following work was done and I have probably ridden the bike less than a hundred miles since:Piston rings installed standard – Transmission gasket and seals installed – Carburetor cleaned – Rear wheel spokes replaced and trued – Tires front and rear – Rear Hagon shocks – Front and rear sprocket and chain – Wheel bearings front & rear – Clutch cable – Front brake cable – Throttle cable – Decompression valve. The gas tank is fiberglass and the new type of fuel with ethanol will evaporate through the fiberglass and cause blisters in the paint. I flushed out the tank let it dry for a considerable time and then used Caswell Tank Sealer in it. It is hard to tell how well the coating is on the inside of the tank so it is something that as time goes on one will tell. I then stripped down the outside of the tank and used primer and several coats of the proper Hugger Orange Paint. I made black decals with white pin stripping to put on the tank instead of paint like on the rest of the bike. Cannot guarantee the paint will not blister again. I changed some of the wiring to incorporate a battery. The original ignition and light switch was non- existent so I installed a new high low beam light switch with kill switch. Does not use a key to start. Tail light and brake light work. Installed new horn and horn switch. Battery is a 6 volt. The throttle cable does not have a rubber boot where it connects to the handgrip I used a makeshift cap but seems to work ok. There are a few cracks in the paint mostly on the front fender which I tried to show in photos. Mechanically I think the bike runs fine I had it out on the trails a few times. There was no title when I obtained the bike so I went through State of Michigan to obtain the proper ORV Title. It is not a street legal title. Cosmetically the paint job is not of showroom quality but looks pretty good. The seat is in excellent condition there are no rips or tears. The shift lever has a homemade rubber cover on it instead of the factory rubber cover. Installed a new FMF Turbinecore Spark Arrestor so it can be trail ridden legally in Michigan with the proper ORV stickers.Bike starts and runs well you just have to remember that this is a 1972 bike so it does not handle like a newer style dirt bike but still is a lot of fun to ride. Ask for more pictures or questions if necessary. This bike is located in Traverse City MI. Deposit of $500.00 due within 24 hours of sale. Cleared full payment of funds due before motorcycle leaves my possession. There is no odometer so I cannot tell how many miles are on bike. THERE IS NO WARRANTY OF ANY TYPE WITH THIS MOTORCYCLE. THERE ALSO IS NO WARRANTY THAT THE PAINT WILL NOT BLISTER AGAIN ON THE TANK EVEN THOUGH I INSTALLED CASWELL TANK SEALER. - I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS LISTING EARLY AS IT IS FOR SALE LOCALLY.
