1933 Coventry-Eagle Silent Suberb

MotoeXotica is pleased to announce our latest addition an extremely rare 1933 Coventry-Eagle Silent Suberb

Coventry-Eagle’s gained the reputation of superior build quality since their founding the company’s origins can be traced back to Victorian England under the name of Hotchkiss Mayo & Meek. Following the departure of John Meek the company name was changed to Coventry-Eagle in 1897. Focusing on hand built motorcycles that proved to be reliable and technically advanced for their time. Coventry motorcycles became one of the few motorcycle manufactures to compete with Borough Superior and Triumph in design and build quality.

This 1933 Silent Suberb is a beautifully preserved piece of motorcycle history which has remained as original as possible. Amazingly this motorcycle still functions even the headlight and brake light still work! The paint has aged with great patina minor scratches and imperfections are to be found however it only adds to this motorcycles history and age. Coventry prided themselves in superior build quality; the original literature for this model stated their made-in-house frame was “absolutely unbreakable with not malleable lugs no brazing not tubing…. the finest engineering frame in the trade giving the most delightful and absolutely perfect steering.” The fact that this Silent Suberb has remained nearly stock and still functions this well is a testimony to Coventry’s dedication to quality. Since this particular bike was built during the Great Depression it is rare to find a preserved example that survived the economic struggle.
