Description

Here I offer to you a blast from the past. The Sears Free Spirit Moped. I remember these from when I was in high school. What you see is what you get. Everything is original as far as I can see. This is thedeluxe model. The people I got it from said it was running when I parked it last year, o I would suspect that draining the oldgas and putting in fresh along with a shot of ether in the cylinder should get it going. If you have questions please ask, f you need different photos please ask. To all bidder good luck. I would prefers you pick this item up, r I could meet you within a reasonable distance. If you want this crated for freight pickup I will do that also for a fee of time and materials.

Some of you may remember this item being listed before, ou are correct. Due to the buyer (bizzzzzzle) not paying for the item nor responding to repeated emails I am forced to relist the moped. I do miss the days when we were allowed to leave negative for behavior like this. Alas his loss is your gain.

Sears Free SpiritThe Sears Free Spirit was a moped made by Kromag/Puch for distribution through Sears department store catalogs from 1977-1979.

Puch had already worked with Sears in the past, aking motorcycles, opeds, nd bicycles for them in the 50s and 60s. Since Puch was already manufacturing Sears' line of "Free Spirit" bicycles still when the moped boom came in the late 1970s, t was only logical for both companies to work together to produce a moped bearing the same name.

The Free spirit moped came in three variations. The base model came as a fully rigid model and was blue in color. The two other models came with front and rear suspensions. The main differences between the two suspension models color and trim. A step up from the blue rigid model was the red model. The red Free Spirit came with painted fenders, poke wheels and no tank trim. The third and last Free Spirit model was called the Deluxe, oming with chrome fenders, nowflake mag wheels, nd black tank trim. The full-suspension models were based on the European Puch X-30. The frame was basically a step-through version of the Magnum frame, nd included 27" forks and a wide swingarm as well. All models were equipped with the E50 engine. The only markings on the mopeds were the words "Free Spirit Moped" on the back of the bench seat, nd decals on the side covers.

The rigid model was only available in blue, ame without a speedometer, nd carried a normal, pringloaded saddle. These bear zero markings as to what model they are, side from mentioning Sears on the VIN plate. A rear rack was an available accessory, ut they are scarce today.
