Description
Brief History of the Marque:Ernst Heinkel was one of the great aircraft designers, uring WWII responsible for some of the best German fighters and bombers. In 1949 he designed his first scooter, ut production did not begin until 1954 when the Tourist appeared,an advanced design with electric start, -speed gearbox and 12 volt electrics.HeinkelmanufacturedThe Tourist in five series: the 101 A0 (1953–1954), he 102 A1 (1954–1955), he 103 A0 (1955–1957), he 103 A1 (1957–1960), nd the 103 A2 (1960–1965). The story goes that the four-stroke engine was designed during the Second World War and was meant to propel little tractors on airfields to supply bomber planes with their load. Some more information about the 'Tourist' can be found here;https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinkel_Tourist
The high quality Heinkel Tourist was considered to be the 'Rolls-Royce' ofscooters back in the days, here also now this scooter is after 60 years stillin a very decent condition and runs really well.
The odometer-reading is 59744 km/37200 mile, nly have no history with itthat shows that this is correct, hough judging by the condition of the wholemachine this could well be the case.
The paint is old and clearly showing age by having a few little dingsand -markings, here also on the rest of the machine traces of age anduse are present.
This Heinkel has until very recent lived its entire life in Germany, herethe last registered owner (born in 1927!) put it in retirement onDecember 11th 1991.
..From there it has been dry stored, here also great care was taken tokeepit in the condition in which it still is.
This Tourist comes with its German registration-document (that states thatit was first road-registered on August 20th 1955) and an official bill of sale frommy company here in Belgium. Furthermore I’ll make sure that all the correctexport-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, hichdocuments will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride.
