Coventry-Eagle was a British producer of suberb motorcycles.

The Coventry-Eagle factory built an extensive range of two- and four-stroke machines powered by Blackburne, AP, aleigh, turmey-Archer, illiers and Matchless engines.

In 1890 the company began under the name of Hotchkiss (Hotchkiss being an American gun designer and manufacturer), ayo & Meek and the company name was renamed to Coventry Eagle in 1897 when John Meek left the company

Coventry-Eagle made Royal Eagle bicycles in the 1890's and built their first JAP-powered motorised bicycle around the turn of the century.

By 1903 they were making motorcycles and by 1916 they had produced quite a variety of machines assembled from mostly proprietory components. In 1921 they were producing a 500cc single and a JAP-powered 680cc V-Twin, nd in 1923 introduced the 976cc Flying Eight which competed in both speed and quality with the Brough Superior SS model. They continued to expand the range until the effects of the Depression were felt in 1929.

All Coventry eagle motorcycles were hand built and finished carefully and for this reason fairly expensive, roduction continued until 1939.

"Eagle has landed"

This hard to find ultra rare 1932 flat-tank Coventry-Eagle 'Marvel' model has been sleeping for a Very long period of time..
It became part of a antique motorcycle-collection in the late 1970's and hasn't been used since, ut has been stored under controlled conditions over the years.
The paint is old and not nice, oth tires are showing some fine cracks but are holding air.
I haven't made any attempts to get it running again, ut the engine is spinning free and has great compression, he gearbox is shifting fine & precise and as far as I can see there aren't any mechanical items missing.
When it arrived with the collector it was in great running & riding condition, here back then the engine was treated with preservation-oil before it was put in storage. Furthermore, o prevent it from seizing, he engine has been turned over several times a year over the decades.
Something really nice with the bike is the original sales-leaflet that is still with it, hich document is telling that the 1932 version had a kick-starter and luggage-carrier.
I was told that this model has only been produced in small numbers over an 18 month period.
This motorcycle has never been registered and comes with an official European Certificate of origin (that comes in name of the buyer and is stating the motorcycle in full) and an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I’ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, hich documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride.-On this listing I’moffering a special (fully sealed) motorcycle crate, areful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US CFS as close as possible to you at my expense, eaning that I will pay for having the bike crated and all handling etc. plus the ocean-freight charge, here you are responsible for all charges at your end, ike entry fees, ort, andling and eventually broker fees.If you want any additional information about this, lease ask before you place a bid.
Furthermore, hen you want to receive some better photo's of the bike/shipping, r want to recieve more information about this item, ust let me know.
I accept PayPal payments.-Additional information to this listing;
I only offer shipping by sea, here of course we can advise you on forehand about the process of importing the machine into your country. Like can be read in the link,this antique bikeis because of its age and displacement exempt from US import-duty and EPA regulations;https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/278/~/importing-classic-or-antique-vehicles-%2F-cars-for-personal-use

The crate will safely sail in a sealed container and the shipment is fullyinsured for eventual damage/loss.
