Today it is very hard to source a very rare machine like this. especially in an original and not restored condition. After WW2 there was in Europe a huge demand for transport in an economical way. where this Poirier trike was a cross-breed between a motorcycle and a little two-seated (sports-)car. In France this type of vehicle was classified as a Voiturette or cycle-car. meaning very small motor-vehicle. In total only a couple of thousand of these Poirier trikes have been built. this trike has serial # 1936.

The vehicle has been taken out of regular use about 20 years ago. but has been running a couple of times a year during this period. the odometer reads 14329 km = 8903 mile. but have no history whether this could be correct.

The body is showing only some very light surface rust and a few dings and scratches. which is to my idea perfectly acceptable after 57 years.

I have sold a fairly similar Poirier trike on eBay a few weeks ago. which machine belonged to the son of the person where this trike came from. I am a very active classic m?ˆ™cycle dealer since the year 1979. where over all these years this is the fourth Poirier trike that I have been able to get hold of.

This trike comes with an official European certificate of origin (which states the make. model. year of manufacture. displacement. weight etc. ) and I will provide the buyer an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I?ˆ™ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here. which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride.
