1968 Cotton Trials motorcycle. Mostly complete original bike. Bike has the Villiers 250 CC type 37A motor. Metal Profile front forks. chrome Dunlop rims- 18" rear. 21" front. An aftermarket Tri-Cor speedometer has been added- drives off the transmission. Frame looks complete- un-molested. not bent. and no cracks were found. Chrome wheels are good to very good. Front tire looks like the original. Brakes are stiff. but work. Cables are beat up but work.
Engine will need some work- does not run. Motor turns fine and has spark. Removed the top end for inspection. Will need a piston. rings and a bore. Currently . 040 over. Will need a big end rod bearing. All these parts are readily available in the UK. Main bearings feel smooth. inside of the case is clean and oily- no rust. Took a picture of the inside while the head and cylinder were off. Cylinder has no broken fins. head has 1/2 of one fin broken off. Transmission shifts through the gears and rolls with no funny noises.
Note the original Villiers S25 carb as well as original air cleaner. Seat is leather with some tears- not sure if it was original. Bike appears to be complete except for muffler. front fender. side stand and chain guard. Gas tank is in very good condition- NO evidence of leaks or split seams- very clean inside. no de-lamination. Must have never had modern gas in it. Please see pictures. Please note this is an off-road motorcycle and does not have a title. Their is no choice for that in the Ebay listing table which is why it says clear title. Will provide a bill of sale.
All in all a very unique bike that can be easily repaired and used again. Bike is located in Mason. MI 48854. Will assist your shipper. but please get your own quotes.
