Description

I had this restoration completed about 6 years ago, orking with Greg Tagaris of Denver's Harry's Motorcycles onthe assembly. This was a laborious project involving the collaboration of many people. I stopped keeping track of my my budget after exceeding $20,000 parts andrestoration costs. My obsession got the best of me. Well, 'veanotherbike coming from Italy, o it's time to let this living room fixture go.
In the interest of full disclosure, will do my best to communicate this bike's features, riginaland non-original. The frame, orks and triple tree are original with frame stamped with the number 530, urchased for a small fortune. It wasoriginally painted red. The engineblock, s explained to me, as included in ahandful of factory racing engines sent to Argentina inthe mid-50's. The engine block is not stampedwith a number, ssuming it wasn't because it was sentfrom Italy notaffixed to bike. The rear hub and brake, ide-by-sidecarburetors,tank petcocks, OS fenders, rake/shiftlever, ick starter, OS expansion chambers and dual throttle for 2 front brake shoes are original. Mostblack oxidized 'clover leaf' engine bolts are original. I had the rest of the correct bolts made. Custom fabricated, ourced or moulded from an original Junior is the tankand tank pad, he front dual shoe'd brake (made from billetaluminum), eadlight/shroud/windscreen, lip-onsand19"Akronaluminum racing rims, eat and shocks. I had the shocks custom made from, f I remember correctly, y WorksPerformance. The pistons and aluminum heads are brand new. The engine was rebuilt by a notable Rumi specialist in Chicago. The front and rear shocks are madespecifically to this bike's requirements and for an approximate 160 lb. rider. It has an electronic ignition madespecially for a Rumi which powers the brake light and head lamp. The seat base and upholstery is new as is the tank pad.
The following need to be corrected. Thealuminum tank sealant has pealed from the tank's interior. I've shaken some small marbles in the tank to break up the flakingsealant which has removed most of it, ut there's about another 30 minutes of shaking required. Best to put install a fuel filter moving forward It has leaked oil from the engine's clutch lever so it will need to be topped off with oil. Seat needs more padding. Bike was best started by push starting. It had a bit of trouble getting started with the kick start until being warmed up. There is no steering damper.
A bike like thiswith 100% original parts and provenancewould be 3times my opening bid.
There are a few inthis country thatwould like to engage, hare theirknowledge, r let me know somethingwith which I'm already aware. Please refrain. I've read the books, ave the manuals, alked tothe experts.
I feel this is one of the most exotic, are and interesting mid-50's Italian Motorcycle. I hope it goes to a good home. It's been wonderfulsharing it's story and design for the years it's been in my possession.
