You are viewing my very clean and well maintained 1976 CJ 750 Sidecar. The bike is in fantastic condition as shown in the pictures. New BMW emblems and speedometer decal have been installed. The bike has been meticulously maintained, t runs and rides just as good as it looks. The color is fire engine red with gold pin stripping. This bike requires no maintenance or repairs in order to be driven. The motor has had over 200 hours of labor polishing to a very nice shine. The bike will include an extra fuel tank and engine gaskets/seals for future use if ever required. The tires are in great condition as well as the brakes. All electrical options work as they should. The transmission is also equipped with reverse. The sidecar includes a canvas cover as well as a spare tire cover. The windshield on the sidecar was custom made for perfect fitment. I hate to see the bike go, ut I have higher priorities that require all of my attention.
History of CJ 750 (Chang Jiang - 750): The CJ story begins in prewar Germany where BMW was building the last of its sidevalve bikes, he BMW R71. Prior to the German invasion, he Soviets were already building copies of the BMW R71, nitially called the M71 and later the M72. Following the invasion, roduction was shifted from Moscow to Irbit in the Ural mountains where thousands were produced during and after the war. With technical support from the USSR, J 750 production commenced in Nanchang in the late fifties. Today's CJ 750 M1 is a copy of the original M72 right down to the 6V electrical system and other quaint features.
