Ambassador 1960/61 3 Star Special with V5 Barn find vintage project rare bike

Here is a fantastic opportunity to own restore and ride a very rare a very desirable British Villiers 9E classic two stroke motorcycle made by Ambassador Motorcycles Ltd from Ascot in the UK. These motorcycles were made in small numbers and as such not many survive today. This bike has been assembled for the sale. but will require a full restoration to return this to road running condition. However. some parts have already been done for you to get you easily started on your winters project in preparation for next summers season to display at the many classic motorcycle rallies across the the UK and beyond or just ride and enjoy!The frame. rear section and swinging arm have been powder coated. You can  use this as a good base coat or fill in the imperfections and respray with your top coat. The engine has been assembled and run up. it sparks well now (after a new coil was fitted in the magneto). However the engine would really benefit with replacement crank (available on exchange from villiers services) or leave as is. depending on your requirements + a replacement of oil seals and bearings etc would be recommended. The clutch works fine. The Petrol tank has been restored to a serviceable condition and all major dents removed. then metal treated in a liquid dip. pressure tested and is now ready for its glorious two tone red/black or white/black finish. you will need to find the tank knee rubbers and clamping plates. The wheels are complete. but they will require a blast and paint or you can do a full rebuild with new chrome rims and spokes. The seat is very rusty (they all went like this). but there is a base. foam and cover for a pattern rebuild back to new from all good seat restorers. The battery box. inner mudguard. stand and footrests all there. The front forks are complete and undamaged. but would require a rebuild. The front valenced mudguard is easily restored. The handlebars and levers are not Ambassador and the handlebar fairing is missing (but available as a fiberglass pattern where you would not know the difference!)The miller headlamp requires a smiths replacement speedo. miller switch and ammeter and a new glass. This bike is not 100% complete. What is missing. as with many of these models is the rear enclosed fairing. nose piece and rear section/tail light/number plate pieces ( however again I understand these can be replaced with fiberglass pattern pieces where available and made to order from Martek composites ltd). Unfortunately I do not have the star badges for the rear enclosure. Also missing is the rear enclosed chain guard. However. unlike many project bikes like this. This one comes with a V5. so is on the DVLA system and you only have to apply for free tax. MOT/insure the bike and you are ready to ride. No waiting around for vehicle inspectors and no mass of multiple forms to complete. send off and no waiting for ever to get your paperwork returned. Happy bidding. no reserve.
