HARRIS F1 TURBO CUSTOM STREETFIGHTER

**Revision as of 29/9/14. rear sprocket has been dropped to 42t to improve rideability lessen the chain angle and 6 Pot Tokicos are being replaced with 4 Pot Nissin calipers to cure the common 6 Pot spongey lever!**

Up for sale is this original Harris F1 framed custom built bike. By original I mean its a hand built Harris F1 race frame from the mid 80's. During the 80's these frames were used for the F1 class of bike racing. however a customer approached Harris performance and asked them to fit his Kawasaki GPz 750 Turbo engine into one of their F1 frames so that it could be registered for the road. I have recently been in touch with Lester and Steve at Harris Performance who have spoken in detail about the bikes history. They state it was the first (and believed to be only) F1 framed 750 Turbo then and now!

This bike is extremely rare and a genuine one off.

I came into ownership of the bike a little over 2 years ago. and purchased it as a project that had barely been started let alone unfinished. Since then it has undergone a complete nut and bolt. ground up rebuild which see's it in the as new condition it is in today.   The work carried out and spec is as follows:

Frame and swingarm:- Original Harris F1 race frame. shot blasted. all welds checked and powder coated Gun metal grey.   Custom swingarm by Mark at MK Motorsport (formally Martek Performance) fabricated to accommodate Harris "upside down" suspension rocker linkage. powder coated gloss black with aluminium Martek paddock stand bobbins.

Engine:- 1984 Kawasaki GPz 750 Turbo E1. Fully stripped and inspected. Cylinder bores de-glazed. pistons cleaned. Cylinder head stripped. valves checked and cleaned. re-lapped. stem seals replaced and re-shimmed accordingly. All gaskets and seals replaced with OEM parts. Engine casings powder coated gloss black and cylinder head glass bead blasted to bare metal finish. Turbo cleaned and inspected and seals replaced. K&N filter fitted direct to turbo and custom dump pipe style exhaust fitted. Custom ignition switch with push button start mounted on frame. Engine mounted with original Harris brackets.

Suspension:- WP upside down forks with billet yokes. WP rear shock with remote resevoir and Maxton spring. serviced by JWR Suspension.

Bodywork:- Custom 3 piece bodywork comprising of front hugger. slabside tank and single seat unit fabricated to follow lines of framework with race seat foam. finished in metallic black with grey stripe and pinstriping and Harris tank stickers.

Brakes and Controls:- Tokico 6 pot calipers with sintered pads. R1 discs and stainless braided lines. Twin piston rear caliper with AP racing master and HRC resevoir tube. custom stabiliser bar mounted to frame. Short racing brake and clutch levers. Old school original Harris rearsets with Harris back plates.

Wheels and Tyres:- 17 inch Alloy wheels powder coated gloss black with grey pinstripe. Michelin Pilot tyres- 180/55 Rear. 120/70 Front.

Other & Electrical:- 28 inch straight Drag bars with Asura digital speedo mounted in center. Renthal grips and quick action throttle. Renthal 48t sprocket and 530 chain.  Battery mounted in cradle under seat unit. Brake light and horn for MOT purposes (daytime use). Stripped and de-cluttered loom.

Full years MOT. 6 Months tax and a full tank of fuel ready to put a smile on your face! Tax cannot be transfered as of 1/10/14 due to stupid new tax rules so new owner will have to tax (ridiculous rule I know)

Absolutely stunning bike which has had a fortune spent in terms of money and time to get it to the as new condtion it is in today.  A genuine piece of motorcycle history where the Harris name speaks for itself. Extremely rare in terms of the frame and engine and possibly one of very very few if not the only F1 framed road bike. Do not miss the chance to own this true one off custom bike.
