Velocette venom 500 classic bike winter project restoration barn find viper etc

Hi thankyou for looking this is my fathers velocette venom 1961 year he has owned the bike since the early 1980s ? he bought the velocette off a friend who had parked it up after buying a new bike in 1976. he bought the bike with the intention of doing a few bits to it and using it but being busy with work and family he never got round to it and it sat in the garage until 1989/1990 (at this point the bike was still running and started at least once a month) the bike had all gears and drive etc and started well but was looking tired so his plan was to strip and rebuild the bike with new parts where needed and the other parts refinished to make it look better as you can see he stripped the bike pretty well but the rebuild bit hasn't happened yet :-) . He got the frame and most of the metal parts ie battery straps chain guards etc all stove enamelled the papers that all the bits are wrapped in are from 1991/1992 some of the parts may need the odd touch up now as this is 22years ago! There is new stainless mud guards. and new devon stainless wheel rims (made in England) with new stainless spokes etc the wheels will need setting up properly and have been lightly assembled. Also there is the original wheel rims which are solid and could be re chromed. also new exhaust which is chrome with new fishtail silencer also chrome. the original exhaust is there but no old silencer. There is also new fork legs and bushes etc plus originals. a new rear sprocket and the original. the miller headlamp has been re silvered inside and restored nicely. the petrol tank is fibreglass needs paint. seat is the one that came with bike. it also has Geoff dodkin rear sets these was on the bike before it was stripped along with chrome clip ons and John tickle headlamp brackets. it has Alfin head and barrels (one of the small fins has slight damage on cylinder head see pictures) frame number is rs16761 engine vm5391 type 12 gearbox also comes with green logbook which numbers match frame and engine also petrol ration book tokens. some receipts for new parts bought and original owners workshop book and another workshop manual. some parts still need paint ie oil tank petrol tank will also need wiring harness front mud guard stays and tyres. maybe a few small parts but all the main parts are there. It will be a easy project for someone with a lot of work already done! Lack of time forces sale my father now thinks he will never have the time to finish it. I think it's a shame after he's done so much but it has been 20+ years since he's really done anything so I guess he has a good point. Engine still turns over fine and has been stored well wrapped up in blankets etc. please only bid if you intend to buy! You can view before you bid!
