Description

Pre-1960 Machine so Tax and MOT exempt

It has has a bare frame respray with 2K paint in the correct green colour.

All fixings have been replaced with stainless where possible or re-plated when neccessary and all have the correct threads and head sizes.

The chrome work is good all round with the following replaced by new parts: Exhaust and silencer. handlebars. control levers. twistgrip. seat. fork bushes and seals. engine bearings and seals. piston rings. ignition coil. solid state rectifier. wiring. speedo cable. stop light switch and probably more that I can't recall.   Rims are pattern replacements with suitably period tyres and good chrome.

On the down side. the tank badges could do with replacing and the charging system has an intermittent fault which shows on the ammeter as a discharge sometimes. The rectifier is new and I have had the coils checked for continuity which they passed so assume the problem is with the connections somewhere.

The paintwork. although new. has a few minor retouches where it has been scratched in storage.  The cylinder head has one fin broken off.

There is no centre stand. just a side stand.

I have a current registration document in my name which shows the colour as Black so this will need to be changed by the new owner.

The correct Villiers 10e engine is fitted and the engine number matches the registration document.

Overall. a nice looking bike. not concours but certainly presentable.   Not currently SORN as no requirement due to age.

Collection to be arranged by the winning bidder although I might be able to deliver on a trailer within 100 road miles for £1. 00 a mile one way only. otherwise. if collection required. a specialist courier would be cheaper. Machine and delivery would need to be paid before release.

I might be willing to do some sort of deal for a Cotton or something similar but that would have to be within the rules laid down by ebay.

Viewing may be arranged at PL6 before bidding.

This is advertised nationally at a price just above the starting price shown so may be withdrawn from this auction.  However. in fairness to everyone. if I do get a starting bid I will withdraw all other advertising and proceed with the ebay auction.

Winning bidder to pay £100 deposit by Paypal within 24 hours of auction ending unless agreed otherwise in advance. and the balance to be paid in cash at the time of collection or delivery.  Sorry to seem harsh but I am sure genuine bidders will have no difficulty in meeting these terms.

This is a new restoration with a rebuilt engine so so the buyer will need to undertake some final tuning.   Consequently. it would be most unwise to ride home before that is done.  Having given that advice. I cannot accept responsibility for any issues once it has left my charge.
