1978 Jawa 360 ISDT Six Days Model 654 has 29 Original Kilometers

FOR SALE !!!  1978 Jawa Model 654 360cc ISDT Six Days 

Straight from Bill's vault. 29 original kilometers. This is a 2-owner bike. Bought back in 1990 by a good friend of ours. This bike has been in dry storage for many years. It has spent the last several years on display at the Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum in Brooks Oregon.

We cleaned the carb/filed the points and it started on the 2nd kick. Sounds GREAT!! Motor is nice and tight. Bill took it for a rip in the parking lot. All gears shift smoothly. Clutch worked properly as well.

The original Barum tires are in excellent shape. See pictures. All knobs are still square. Some even have the little rubber casting flaps still in place. The sidewalls have no visible weathering or cracking. Tubes currently are holding air.

The original fenders and frame paint is also very nice. Each shows normal wear for 36 years of storage. Please view all the pictures and please use the ZOOM.

There is a dent on the left top outer edge of the tank. See picture.

The underside of the gas cap is rusted. This rust has sprinkled into the bottom of the tank. The inside of the tank is rust free but will need a good flushing to get crumbs out.

The seat is in great shape. No rips or tears. The original cover is a little bit stiff. Could use a good leather conditioner applied.

All of the little rubber items like the chain case are in excellent shape for their age. Remember only 29 original miles but are also 36 years old.

Wheels. rims. hubs. spokes and backing plates are nice and shiny.

There is a small open "loop" style bracket on the left side of the frame. We assume that this is where a tool kit or tire pump once was. Neither is included.

The undersides of the fenders. frame and engine and clean.

The knurled nut that fastens the light switch into the front number plate has gone missing and is currently being held in place with a small strip of rubber hose.

When test running we flipped the light switches but the tail light and headlight did not come on. Perhaps needs new bulbs or has a faulty switch.

Along with this bike comes the ORIGINAL statement of origin signed off by the imported of Jawa back then. Has never had an owners signature written in.

Please keep in mind that this is fine example of this particular model. Perhaps the cleanest. lowest mileage. and unmolested example left on this planet. Along with those 36 years of age all you vintage bike nuts are well aware of what CAN come along with these beasts. Drippy carbs. deteriorated air filters. leaky fork seals etc.
