Recently renovated 1938 Ariel Square 4 1000cc iron engine. The bike starts and runs well without undue noise or smoke. Its not been used since its currently being registered and is awaiting its documents. The bike has been the subject of a long term restoration which has taken a number of years on and off. Thats the original tank that has been renovated for example. and I believe that they are original guards etc. The bike is almost ready for use. just awaiting docs. Lots has been spent and the bike has been kept as close to original spec as possible. This is a rare bike and arguably one of the first super bikes as the road test at the time reported. The publicity stunt they pulled to advertise this model was to put the bike in top gear at a mere 10 mph and it would pull cleanly through to a genuine 100 mph without a gear change. 10mph to 100mph in 4th. To top that speed in the late 1930s you would have needed a Brough and one of those would not have been anything like as smooth as a Square. so these bikes were awesome in the late 30s. From what I understand a mere 4500 of these were produced in the years before they moved over to teles. so there can not be that many left in the world. I don. know what the actual numbers left are. but it wont be a massive number and there will be even less in this condition. Viewing is welcome. 01246 411977 for an appointment. Collection is preferred. although I can arrange for delivery within the mainland UK by courier for £100. Finally. if you bid you buy. no tyre kicking excitement afterwards. and no test pilots without a wedge big enough to choke a donkey. I. also open to possible swaps for other interesting pre war machines.
