Vintage 1938 AJS 250cc Twin Port. V5C. Project, Barn Find, Girders, Pre War Bike

For auction this time is a pretty rare 1938 AJS model 22 which is a 250cc overhead valve twin port single. This machine comes with a V5C and appears to be on its original number but is none transferable. The bike will be tax and MOT exempt at this age. This is a pre war single on girder forks. The bike is really a rolling basket case. Its been put together to really show you whats there. That said a lot of good work has been carried out. The frame is powder coated. the engine and gearbox are rebuilt. The rear wheel is rebuilt. and the front wheel is an original wheel that has been powder coated. Theres a new headlight. A lot of the tinware is original and not repro such as the tank and guards. That said there is still a lot of work to be done. Theres no wiring or cables on the bike. Theres no clutch presently fitted. but there is a small box of spares included which has the makings of a clutch included. This machine has the later Burman type gearbox fitted. and will need the engine plates changing. which are also in the spares. This is a none running rolling basket case that has most of the large bits present. I. say its 80 % complete. Most of what is missing are smaller items. Its a very good project and quite a nice bike being the twin port variant.  Viewing is welcome. 01246 411977 for an appointment.
