Vintage 1936 AJS Model 22 Pre War Girder 250cc OHV. V5 . History. Good Runner

1936 AJS model 22 which is a 250cc overheavd valve single. V5c is present and its on a none transferable registration number. Its classed as historic. so is tax and MOT exempt. The bike starts and runs really well and has been used for several years and has been ridden to the isle of man a number of times by a previous owner. The file contains several old MOTs and tax discs from recent years. This machine is pretty clean and well sorted. although slightly none standard with a short silencer and high pipe for example. It also has a later monoblock carb fitted. but it runs really well on this. It has nice rims and the wheels have clearly been rebuilt at some point. So it would be your choice to run as is or restore it further. There is no dynamo fitted at present. so lighting is by battery only. but there is no reason why a dynamo can not be put back on for a charging system. So. this is a good running little bike. quite rare. and one that could be used as is or would be great as a light restoration project as its mainly detail work thats required.
