These machines were made by DKW between 1938 and 1941 and are rarer than the larger 350cc model. Some 26. 00 were produced; few remain. This particular bike has been authenticated as 1939 by its frame number 479370. and engine number 983711. The bike is painted in Wehrmacht grey. but traces of North Africa desert sand appear below. It bears German registration plates WH 8976. which carry the swastiga insignias.

According to the previous owner: New tyres and tubes. cables. footrest rubbers. and wiring loom. as well as heavy leather panniers.

By the present owner - Repairs to headlamp. including replacement glass. bulb. and dipswitch & cable. Horn replaced. and wiring rectified. The handlebars. front brake linings and one footrest have been renewed. along with the footrest support rod. The saddle pivot has been rebushed. and a number of small items of repair rectified. The decompressor cable has also been renewed. All the usual service items such as spark plugs. contact points and fuel cleanliness have been attended to. The bike runs. the clutch is light. and all gears can be selected.

Paperwork - There are technical. spares and rider?ˆ™s manuals in German. translations of German technical terms. and a rider?ˆ™s photocopy handbook in English. There is also a full folder of useful information. and an original-style oilcan.
