DMW Hornet Race Bike Project

Here for sale is a DMW Hornet 250 racer. complete but unassembled for restoration. The bike has been stripped and all the services have been done; all paintwork undertaken. etc. Pictures

1) The first picture is of the DMW Hornet. This is not the actual bike but identical

2) Oldani TLS front brake. All parts are present. Crack tested and ready for rebuild

3) Villers Star Maker engine. nbsp;no broken fins and with good compression. There is also a number of new pistons in boxes included. /p>

4) Villiers Star Maker gearbox. Close ratio racing version

5) A load of cases and some spare ones

6) Original petrol tank. repaired. pressure tested and polished ready to fit

7) Original fairing with a brand new one straight from the original Jakeman moulds

8) Frame. swingarm and all brackets painted in original silver

9) The original MP Forks all polished. with good stanchions that will not need replating. All brackets rechromed and all other bright work zinc plated. such as spings. arms. etc. Also shown the rear brake plate and sprocket carrier

10) Rear wheel polished and painted black 

11) Box of the remaining bits including an original Smiths Tacho.

Not shown in the picture are the various engine and clutch parts. alloy rims. which are Dunlop and Borrani that will need to be built into the hubs. an Amal GP carb with remote float chamber. In essence this project has a lot of very desirable. rare and expensive parts.

The bike has been with us for some years now and over that time all this restoration work has been completed. It's now ready to start putting back together. however lack of time and multiple other projects mean that this one is likely to stand for a while longer. which is a shame. Advertised now as it gives the winter to bring the build together in time for the Classic events such as the Classic TT. Festival 1000 bikes. CRMC parades or race. etc. This is now an easy build that will result in a very rare and collectable machine.
