Description

1956 ARIEL HUNTMASTER 650C

On offer to the highest bidder is my 1956 650cc ariel huntmaster. this really is a wonderful british twin that goes really well with a superb engine. gearbox and clutch. in fact I never thought I would sell it. but as most of you know it was the Stafford show this weekend and a machine was on offer on one of the dealer trade stalls that I have been looking for a while . after much swooning I found myself shaking his hand and the ariel now has to go to fund the purchase !

The ariel runs. rides and handles with out fault and has recently had a full magneto rebuild. so it starts really well hot or cold. the charging works perfectly well and I even used it to go to work on for a while and the lights have never failed !

the bike is mot exempt and is taxed as an historic vehicle. under the new road tax rules you will have to apply for a new tax disc on change of ownership. however its free and it you can do this anytime via the gov website. the condition is best described as original looking and slightly oily rag but is all the better for it. I think the pics should show enough detail to give you a good idea what your bidding on.

The machine is declared registered in 1956 and there is some paperwork from a dealer that sold in the past that this is a matching numbers machine. see picture on my listing. but here are the frame and engine numbers for you.

frame number PR2864

engine number MLF2656

I had a quick check online and they are both correct for the year !

there is an owners manual. a service history log. loads of old mots and receipts for around £1200 for work done. the tyres are both Dunlop gold seal and the front one is nearly new. the speedo works well and the brakes are good !

the only thing you may want to do is to tension the kick start spring correctly. it just needs a little nudge to bring the kick starter to the upright postion after firing the machine up. my fault as I set it incorrectly se it when I replaced the selector drum spring.

cash on collection and please no timewasters or scammers. am not a fool !

good luck to all bidders on my fab ariel. the best 650 twin I have had the pleasure of owning !
