Some 15. 86 of these motorcycles were built between 1937 and 1940. They were single-cylinder. 342cc ohv machines weighing 155kg. (341lb. ). and producing 14hp at 3500rpm. with a top speed of around 60mph.

This particular bike was manufactured by the Munich factory on May 21. 1940. and delivered on June 26. 1940 to the ?ˆ?Koeniglich Rumanisches Ruestministerium Bukarest?ˆ?. the Royal Romanian War Ministry. Bucharest (Romania then being one of Germany?ˆ™s allies). It bears the Waffant (eagle and swastiga) engine stamp. indicating that it saw World War II service.

It is believed to have been imported into the UK around 2008. but has not yet been registered here. UK NOVA Customs clearance now received. enabling registration in the UK. The odometer reading is 14. 84km (9125 miles). which is not warranted. but which the vendor has no reason to doubt. The bike runs. and appears to be in good condition. It comes complete with German handbook and parts list. technical data and notes in English. and a letter of authentication from BMW.

Work carried out by the vendor includes new front tyre and tube. front brake shoes relined. new dynamo and rear wheel bearing. new throttle. and kickstart rubbers. new advance/ retard and speedometer cables. new carb float and needle. new dynamo pulley and belt. new contact breakers. and repairs to the front brake drum spigot.
