1939 velocette mac 350cc
On offer to the highest bidder is my pre war 1939 velocette mac. this really is a very impressive british single that goes really with a superb engine. gearbox and clutch and it simply oozes charm. in fact I never thought I would sell it as i really am terribly fond of this little motorcycle. but as most of you know it was the Stafford show this weekend and a machine was on offer on one of the dealer trade stalls that I have been looking for a while . after much swooning I found myself shaking his hand and the velo mac now has to go to fund the purchase !
This bike has been really dependable during my ownership and bar fitting a new rear tyre recently i have never had to put a spanner on it. and that's quite an achievement for a british bike. its largely unrestored and is all the better for it so please don. restore this old girl she is perfect just the way she is . there a lovely period push pull throttle. a period choke lever and a lovely old brass pump under the tank.
The machine runs and rides wonderfully well. in fact i am sure this is one of the nicest velos you will get the chance to ride. it was tested by the folks from real classics magazine and there is a large feature on the bike inside and its quite obvious they liked it too. all the electrics work and so does the charging system. the bike was also once owned by a very prominent classic motorcycle dealer and he loved the bike as well. in my view velocettes of this period where quality built machines like sunbeams and the fact that the bike still rides and runs so well is proof of that !
Its quite obvious from the photos that this machine is not a restored show bike. so please don't expect shiny new parts or dazzling chrome. this bike is not about that but i think the pics speak for them selves !
the reg number is non transferable and she was first registered on the 15-07-1939. the frame number is 10123 and the engine number is mac 8088 . the bike is mot exempt and the taxation class is historic which is free !
there are some more pics for you to study below
The bike is payment by cash on collection and please no dreamers or scammers i am not fool !
good luck to all bidders !
