1974 BSA Ariel 3 50cc Moped.

I was going to do up this little Ariel 3. but now due to a change in circumstances. I don?ˆ™t need two. so this one has to go. I have cleaned out the Tank and carb and put in a new decompressor cable and throttle cable in order to get it going. The engine now starts and runs ok. but will require further tinkering in order to achieve its full potential.

The plastic fairing is in good condition. eg no breaks or bad scrapes. However the rear engine metal cowling is pitted with rust. though the plastic sides are once again in good condition. It has also had a new front brake cable fitted. the fuel tap cork has been replaced and a new petrol cap added. A new engine fan cowling has also been made up as the original was missing.

It will require work to finish this project; the brakes need attention. as does the wiring. A new rear light is required and possibly a front fork damper. It is also missing the inner fairing plastic cover (which hides the cables) though this is only a cosmetic item. It also comes with its V5 document.

The good news is that many new parts are still available from a chap who bought up all the remaining Ariel 3 stock a few years ago. and I will pass on his details to the winning bidder.

So there you go. a runner with a V5. which. in itself is a rarity on Ebay. However this one has been started on. but does need finishing. But please be aware that these bikes always draw attention to themselves and the rider. so all you really need is a smile and a good sense of humour to ride it. and if you have to ask why? Then you?ˆ™re probably not ready for one!

Anyway here it stands. so why not just bung on a bid and you might get lucky- Because there?ˆ™s not even a reserve on it!

All we ask is that the winning bidder contacts us within 3 Days and arrange pick up within 7-10 Days. The bike will need to be collected from Felixstowe in Suffolk.

Collections by courier are fine (and we could even recommend a specialist bike courier). but please contact us prior to bidding to arrange payment methods to pay on pickup.

This item is strictly Cash on collection and bidders with less than 10 feedback will need to contact us before bidding- otherwise their bids may be removed!
