Panther Model 120 1960 650 Twin Port Single Classic Collector Vintage

I bought this bike off an elderly French gentleman who lives in London. it has been in his ownership for approx. thirty years. during this time it has hardly been used at all. reason being that he has so many bikes and he prefers to ride his Triumphs. his many bikes have been stored properly in dry heated garages. nbsp; he is now selling some them. his house as well. so that he can return home to France.

At some time in its life it has had a car alternator fitted under the seat. note fan belt in pics. I'm told this unit hasn't worked for a long time and with the bike is a reconditioned. but untried. alternator off a 2CV. to be used as a replacement. or the electrics can be returned to original. this alternator under the seat business I'm told is quite a common thing to do with these large Panthers.

I have the V5c in my name. engine and frame numbers match it. nbsp; frame;  27309      engine;602A-338A.  I have had confirmation from the Panther owners club that the engine and frame are a matched pair and they left the factory as a unit in December 1959. nbsp; remember this bike hasn't been used for many years. but. I put in fresh petrol and freed off the petrol taps and it started quite easily. nbsp; we rode it up and down the road (private) and the gears and brakes worked okay. nbsp; I have also been contacted by the chap who rebuilt it in the 1980's  he spent so much time on it that his wife called it his mistress. he actually rode it down to London when he sold it to the French chap. who I bought it off. and had little or no problems on the way. just one bolt came loose I think he said. nbsp; he is willing to be put in touch of the new owner if the bike sell. nbsp;   registration number is XAS 479 which I believe is not original but. is transferable.
