For auction here is a 1954 AJS model 18 which is a 500cc overhead valve single. The bike has a current V5C present and it is on an age related none transferable reg number. The log boook has this down as historic. so the bike will be tax and MOT exempt. the bike its self is fairly original and unrestored. It is a half width hub jampot model. which is early swinging arm. It has an alloy head and turns over with good compression. The bike has good solid tinware on it and is not far from being a runner. just requiring the mag sorting to run I believe. as you can see. everything is painted black as they would have been in 1954 due to the chrome shortage at that period. A lot of the tinware looks to be right and this would make a great project once painted up. Viewing is welcome as ever. 01246 411977 for an appointment. Collection is preferred. but I can arrange for delivery within the mainland UK by courier for £100. Finally. if you bid. you buy. no tyre kicking excitement afterwards please.
