Dot Trials Pre 65 Twin shock Motorcycle

Hi This is my DOT (Devoid of Trouble) trials bike. I brought her about 9 months ago with the intention of using her in our local twin shock trials events. she was garaged for 30+ years before I brought her and is over fifty years old so is showing her age. However. I stripped the engine and gearbox and changed the parts that needed changing including gaskets and clutch. surprisingly bearings. seals. piston etc. were all OK so didn't change. I have also added electronic ignition which makes her start and run very reliably. she started first kick on Saturday after not running her for a couple weeks but would normally expect her to start second or third kick. All four gears work. Originally. she would have had DOT leading link front forks but has had a modification (front yoke from 1960 D7 Bantam) to allow telescopic forks to be added. I have a letter from DOT Motorcycles which describes the rear outriggers. bottom loop of main frame and swinging arm as being from a 1959/60 Dot trials bike. She has the aluminium tank which was an extra from the factory which was full of dents but sound so I have repaired the dents and sprayed the tank blue to smarten her up a bit. She looks and sounds great. she is pretty loud with the trials exhaust but it suits the bike. She probably needs new tyres and definitely needs new brake shoes before she could be trialed and probably a few other bits to make her competitive. I'm selling her as I also have a Fantic 125 which is a lot lighter to ride and the DOT is just too heavy for me. Receipts and manuals included but no registration document as its never been on the road. Cash on collection please. Pick up from benfleet.
